IHC orders to take up Aafia Siddiqui case with American Ambassador

Islamabad High Court has ordered to take up the Aafia Siddique case with the American Ambassador in Pakistan.

Justice Sardar Ejaz heard the case of Aafia Siddique’s release in IHC.

Court ordered the foreign office to present Aafia Siddique’s case to the US ambassador in Pakistan to see his reaction.

The court directed the submission of the response of the US embassy with counter signatures of Foreign Minister Bilawal and the Foreign Secretary.

Justice Ejaz Ishaq Khan commented that even after 70 years, no one gives us any value on the world map, and all we can do is sit and cry. The Foreign Office just sent letters, but there was no follow-up.

Whereas, Fauzia Siddiqui’s lawyer stated that Dr. Fauzia aka Aafia Siqqidue’s sister applied for a visa in September but it has not been approved yet.

Fauzia Siddiqui’s lawyer also said that we are raising funds for the case in America, and we need funds for the new lawyer we are trying to hire.

He further asked what options we have? How can the Ministry of Foreign Affairs support us?

The court while expressing its displeasure with the efforts made regarding the release of Aafia Siddique ordered the submission in the next hearing.

The court also postponed the next hearing until January 20.
