IHC quashes Senator Ejaz Chaudhry’s arrest, orders immediate release

Rawalpindi's case does not come under our jurisdiction, says IHC on petitions of Malika Bukhari & Ali Muhammad Khan

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday quashed the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Senator Ejaz Chaudhry under the 3MPO and ordered his immediate release.

Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court heard the petition against the arrest of PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry.

After hearing the arguments of the lawyers from both sides, the court set aside the arrest order of Senator Ejaz Chaudhry under the 3MPO and ordered his immediate release.

Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb ordered the release of Ejaz Chaudhry.

Petitions over re-arrests of Malika Bukhari, Ali Muhammad Khan:

On the other hand, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb also heard the contempt of court case against the detention of Malika Bukhari and Ali Muhammad and re-arrest.

Petitioner Taimur Malik’s advocate appeared in the court and said that Malika Bukhari and Ali Muhammad Khan were arrested again on the orders of DC Pindi, both the leaders were arrested on the order of DC Pindi under 3MPO.

On which the court said that Rawalpindi’s case does not come under their jurisdiction. He directed to approach the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench in this regard. Later, the high court disposed of the petitions with the direction.
