‘I’m not under-arrest’, Shah Mehmood Qureshi warns of protests

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that he is not arrested.

He termed the news regarding his arrest as disinformation.

However, the PTI leader also warned that arrests are big mistake that will cost in form of further protests.

He stated in a tweet, “The people of Pakistan will not sit in their homes.”

Shah Mehmood Qureshi tweeted, “I have not been arrested, as yet. However be warned! Every kind of strategy is in place to spread disinformation, create chaos, panic and terror, to try and break the spirit of our party and supporters.”

He further tweeted, “Let me warn you, this is a huge mistake. The people of Pakistan will NOT sit in their homes. No fear! PROTEST!”

Earlier, it was reported in media that Shah Mehmood Qureshi was arrested by police in Islamabad.

The police personnel were stationed outside Islamabad High Court to arrest Qureshi, but he had managed to escape in the vehicle of Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, according to different reports.

The police had, earlier in the day, arrested PTI Secretary General Asad Umar as well from Islamabad High Court premises for violation of Section 144.
