Senator Mushtaq Ahmed has said that the budget made up on assumptions shows no move of the government against interest.
Speaking at a meeting of the Senate chaired by Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami said that yesterday the Minister of State for Finance informed that the IMF’s conditions were fulfilled in the budget.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed said that it was actually the budget of the IMF based on interest. He said that there is no move against interest in this budget and the budget consists of mere assumptions.
“Who is taking loans? A commission should be formed on it. At present, the country has more defaults and rampant inflation than Sri Lanka. I call FBR fraud BR. I don’t think the economy will get on track,” he added.
JI’s Senator further said that nothing has been done for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the budget. He demanded that interest be abolished in the country. he also demanded that civil service and police reforms should be carried out along with an increase in the salary of the worker.
