Immediate elections are not possible, Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister and senior PML-N leader said that due to the flood conditions it is not possible to hold immediate elections in the country. He said that several areas were still under water and it will take time to de-watering of such areas.

He said the new census will also be conducted by March next year. Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Long March Ahsan Iqbal said that the people needed a long march for economic development and not political.

The federal minister said that Imran Khan was not appreciated by the people of Pakistan while the demand for immediate elections was not administratively possible.

Last month Ahsan Iqbal said that Imran Khan has been opposing the IMF agreement and that India was also trying to thwart Pakistan’s IMF program.

PTI Chairman has been demanding that fresh elections should be announced in the country for political stability. Imran Khan has also criticized the coalition government for increasing inflation and the dwindling economic condition of the country.
