Imran criticizes ‘PDM mafia’ for sealing Centaurus Mall in Islamabad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman criticized the current administration’s decision to seal the Centaurus mall, which belonged to the premier of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who ‘censured’ Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for not emphasizing the sacrifices of Kashmiris in a speech.

The former prime minister claimed that after the PTI was ousted via a resolution of no-confidence, the “mafia” Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) activities demonstrated that there had been a “law of the jungle in Pakistan for the last eight months”

Imran further said that the conduct “sends negative signals to Kashmiris also.” He questioned if the nation’s judges truly served as the upholders of the law.

After issuing the management six notices, the building control division of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad locked the Centaurus mall.

According to media reports, despite the warnings, the building’s alleged non-conforming usage persisted, breaking CDA rules.

The Centaurus Mall management received the first warning on March 7, 2014, the second on October 25, 2019, the third on December 28, 2020, and the fourth on March 31, 2021. On October 11, 2021, the penultimate notice was sent, and on November 23, 2022, the sixth and last notice.

Centaurus Mall management received numerous warnings, but they continued to disobey, so the building was sealed.
