Imran directed to submit reply in Toshakhana reference by Sept 7

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday adjourned hearing of the Toshakhana reference against former prime minister Imran Khan till September 7.
During the hearing, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja asked PTI lawyer Barrister Gohar Khan as to why assets details are not being submitted. The PTI lawyer contended that he could not submit details due to his engagement in a FIA case. “Everything is part of the record already. It should not take so much time,” the chief election commissioner (CEC) stressed. “We will try to submit the answer till the next hearing. I am asking for time in a personal capacity,” Barrister Gohar replied. The ECP directed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to submit his reply in the case by September 7.

Talking to journalist outside ECP office, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said that Imran Khan would have to answer his “misdeeds”. He would not be allowed to evade accountability by seeking frequent adjournments,” he said. He said Imran Khan and his counsels managed to prolong the prohibited funding case and they were using same tactics this time. “On the next hearing, Imran’s lawyers will definitely seek another adjournment pleading that their record was destroyed in the recent floods.” He challenged Imran Khan to prove that the Toshakhana reference was concocted and not based on facts. “I will quit politics forever if Imran proves that the case is not based on facts,” he added.
