A special court set up under the Official Secrets Act has allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan to talk to his both sons over telephone.
The PTI chairman, through his lawyers Umair Niazi and Shiraz Ahmed, had filed an application in the Official Secrets Act court seeking a telephonic conversation with his sons Qasim and Suleiman.
Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Official Secrets Act Court accepted the PTI chairman’s petition.
Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain directed the Superintendent Attock Jail to make arrangements for the telephone conversation of his sons with Imran Khan.
It may be recalled that Imran Khan was detained after his conviction on August 5 in the Toshakhana case and was shifted to Attock Jail, but later on August 19, the FIA chairman PTI was also arrested in the cipher disappearance case.
A few days ago, the Islamabad High Court suspended the sentence given to Imran Khan by the trial court in the Toshakhana case, but due to his arrest in the cipher case, his release could not be possible and he is still imprisoned in Attock Jail.
