Former prime minister and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has arrived in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) amid arrest fears.
He travelled from Lahore to the federal capital in order to personally appear before the Islamabad High Court. The court had warned him yesterday that if he continued to miss court appearances, they would reject his pre-arrest bails.
Earlier, Imran Khan alleged that “Dirty Harry” would be responsible if anything happens to him and Murad Saeed.
At 2:00 PM today, a two-member Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench led by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq will hear Imran Khan’s bail pleas in nine different cases.
Imran Khan said, in a video message before departing from his residence, that while the court had summoned him, despite the swelling in his leg, he was going to the Islamabad High Court because they respect the legal system.
He claimed that they are not like other people who take various actions against judges when the verdicts are not in their favour.
“I had made it very obvious to LHC three days prior that Dirty Harry had attempted to assassinate me twice, once in Wazirabad, during which the JIT probe was obstructed by him (Dirty Harry) since the results were pointing in his direction,” he claimed.
“The second attempt to assassinate me was attempted on March 18,” according to Imran Khan.
They are now accusing Murad Saeed of being a terrorist, but if anything bad happens to Murad Saeed, this scoundrel would also be responsible, he added.
I want it known that if anything bad happens to me, Dirty Harry will be responsible. I am not under threat from any foreign government, except from this man and whoever is with him.
He declared, “I am calling all Pakistanis to express solidarity with your Chief Justice for an hour in your neighborhoods and villages at 5:30 pm the day after tomorrow because the Mafia is currently pursuing the Chief Justice.”
Imran Khan said that this mafia had split the Supreme Court and was violating the Constitution out of fear of the upcoming elections. They were also opposing the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court.
He stated that he will be leading four rallies on Saturday for our Chief Justice and the Constitution, in addition to gatherings in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. The purpose of all these rallies is to show our Chief Justice that the whole country supports him.
Security arrangements at Islamabad High Court
Because of Imran Khan’s appearance, tight security measures have been put in place outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
There is a large police presence surrounding the Islamabad High Court, and on the court grounds.
The roads leading to the High Court have been blocked off by barbed wire, and a sizable detachment of FC and Rangers have also been deployed for protection.
The entry of other people has been prohibited by the Islamabad High Court, while special credentials are required for lawyers and media representatives.
Imran Khan will be permitted to enter the courtroom with 15 attorneys, while the Attorney General’s and Advocate General’s offices will each be entitled to send 10 attorneys.
Only 30 members of the High Court Journalists Association will be permitted access to the courtroom; anyone else will not be permitted entry.
It is also pertinent to mention that the Islamabad High Court had given Imran Khan time till today to appear before it. The court had said that if PTI Chairman fails to appear today then his bails will be cancelled.
