Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, the former prime minister and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has raised concerns about her husband’s safety while he’s in Attock jail, suggesting he could be poisoned.

She wrote to the Punjab home secretary, noting that the court had ordered his transfer to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.

She argued that his social and political status as an Oxford graduate and former cricket captain warranted B-class facilities, which Attock jail lacks.

Bushra also mentioned past assassination attempts on Khan and demanded that he be allowed to eat home-cooked food due to his former PM status.

The PTI Core Committee had previously expressed similar concerns about slow poisoning and the delay in arranging homemade food and water for Khan.

His arrest followed his sentencing to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case, and he’s also been barred from politics for five years.
