Imran Khan gets protective bail from LHC till March 27

It’s not possible that neither details are submitted nor relief given to petitioner; Imran appears silently in private car

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has been given protective bail from Lahore High Court (LHC) in two cases filed against him in Islamabad. While the court, in terrorism case against the former prime minister, has directed the government’s attorney to submit details and provide relief to PTI Chairman till then.

Earlier, the PTI Chairman appeared before the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday for protective bail in two cases in Islamabad.

Imran Khan appeared in the court of Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh for ATC case filed against him.

PTI Chairman filed a protective bail application in two cases of Islamabad (cases registered in Golra police station and CTD) after which the court ordered him to appear at 2:15 pm today.

The court suspected that Imran Khan’s signature was scanned and directed his lawyer for verification.

When the Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the former prime minister’s contempt petition regarding a police operation at his Zaman Park residence on March 18, Imran Khan claimed that he had arrived for the hearing in a vehicle that no one was aware of.

SSP operations and Additional Advocate General were present in the court. Fawad Chaudhry and Advocate Azhar Siddique were also in the court.

During the court hearing, the judge directed the personal security staff to go out of the court room to maintain peace inside during proceedings.

Imran Khan, speaking to the court after coming on rostrum, said that he was on his was to Islamabad when police had raided his residence. He said that his wife was alone at house, his guards and private household employees were detained.

PTI Chairman said that court orders were being violated. He added that on one side election date was announced while on the other hand terrorism cases were booked against him.

The court has directed the government’s attorney to get the details of the cases against Imran Khan.

Justice Tariq Saleem gave the time of two days directing to provide relief. The court said that the complete details of the cases should be submitted and till then relief would be given to the petitioner.

The court said that it was not possible that neither the details would be presented nor relief will be given to petitioner.

Later, PTI Chairman appeared before the court of Justice Shehbaz Rizvi for protective bail where a two member bench comprising of Justice Shehbaz Rizvi and Justice Farooq Haider heard the matter.

The court gave protective bail to PTI Chairman till March 27 in two cases filed in Islamabad.

Imran Khan also signed his applications and affidavits as per court’s directions.
