Imran Khan granted protective bail in lawyer’s murder case

    On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (LHC) approved protective bail for the former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in the murder case of Senior Supreme Court lawyer, Advocate Abdul Razzaq Shar. The two-member bench, headed by IHC CJ Amir Farooq, granted protective bail to the former premier until July 18. Imran Khan was implicated in the murder case, which was registered at Shaheed Jameel Kakar police station under charges of murder, terrorism, and others, based on the complaint filed by the deceased lawyer’s son. Advocate Abdul Razzaq Shar was shot dead in Quetta, and he was known for pursuing a treason case against the former prime minister. Imran Khan has also obtained interim bail in six separate miscellaneous cases until July 10. The hearings for these cases took place at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad, where the court extended the PTI chief’s interim bail in a case registered at Shehzad Town police station, while directing him to cooperate with the investigation. The case was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Farrukh Fareed Baloch.
