Imran announces PTI gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced to conduct a huge gathering of PTI on March 19 [Sunday] at 2 pm.

Addressing the participants of PTI’s election rally at ‘Data Darbar’, PTI Chairman announced that he will convene a gathering of his party supporters at ‘Minar-e-Pakistan’.

Imran Khan said that they will struggle to get the rights of the people. He said that the truth had come forward in Toshakhana case. He said that when the funding details of PML-N will come out then people will be startled.

PTI Chairman, calling on the residents of Lahore, said that they will put combined effort for rule of law and betterment of the country.

Due to security reasons, PTI Chairman didn’t come out of his bulletproof vehicle and made a short address from his car. He then left back for Zaman Park after concluding the rally.

Earlier former prime minister Imran Khan led an election campaign rally from Zaman Park to Data Darbar in Lahore.

PTI’s rally came to a conclusion in Zaman Park. On the other side, a video was shared on the social media platform Twitter from PTI’s official account. Imran Khan had departed to lead the demonstration, according to the tweet.

The rally starting from Zaman park left to Data Darbar via Allama Iqbal Road and Circular covering Garhi Shahu, Railway Station, Shah Alam Chowk, Urdu Bazar, Bhaati Chowk and Data Darbar.

There was a sizable number of people accompanying the convoy and many were on their rooftops to see the rally, while around a dozen camps were set up in the way to welcome the rally. The people were gathered all around the way on roads. Most of the participants of the rally were travelling on foot.

The local administration had blocked all the by-roads connecting the main route of rally since the noon. There were scenes of fireworks on the route while people were chanting PTI’s slogans. Schools and markets along the route were closed early by the administration.

It is pertinent to mention that elections have been announced in Punjab and parties are busy in their election campaigns and finalizing the candidates for upcoming provincial polls.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry quoting a massive crowd at rally said that stopping Imran Khan was equivalent to getting people angry. He stated in a tweet that look at the visuals of rally in Lahore and understand the facts.

Earlier, twice in the previous week, the caretaker provincial government had imposed Section 144 in the city citing some other events including cricket matches. PTI had cancelled the rally both times and now after the permission of administration the rally has been conducted.
