Imran Khan terms Governor Punjab’s move illegal

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the move taken by Governor Punjab was illegal.

Talking to a delegation of lawyers in Zaman Park, Imran Khan said that the country could not progress until the rule of law was applicable. He said that in order to get out of slavery in America the justice system in the country will be restored and all institutions will have to work within their limits.

He once again alleged that former army chief general retired Bajwa was responsible for the current economic situation of the country. Imran Khan said that it was their constitutional right to dissolve the assemblies because they had the majority.

The lawyers briefed Imran Khan that the move of Governor Punjab to direct the Chief Minister for seeking a vote of confidence was totally illegal. They also said that the decision of the Manzoor Watoo case regarding the dissolution of the assembly and the Governor’s action was very clear.

On this occasion, Imran Khan tasked the lawyers to start a full-fledged movement regarding the Rule of Law across the country. Imran Khan said that a society with different merits of law could never prosper.

Speaking about the situation of the Punjab CM-ship he said that the CM and Speaker of Punjab Assembly had taken a constitutional and legal stand. He said that he will dissolve Punjab and KP assemblies. He said that PDM was afraid of going into elections as they knew that they could never defeat PTI in free polls.
