‘Imran wants civil war’: Marriyum criticizes Imran for demanding CEC’s resignation

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for demanding the resignation of the chief election commissioner, saying that he wanted civil war.

In a press conference on Tuesday, the information minister said that Imran Khan had attacked every institutions, and tried to sabotage the foreign policy of Pakistan.

Marriyum Auragzeb has said that on April 3, when the doors of the court were opened because of Imran’s attack on the constitution, he accused the judges of taking decisions behind closed doors.

The information minister said that he desired to destroy anyone against him, adding that the former prime minister had done the same with the Election Commission of Pakistan and its head CEC.

She said that the PTI chief wanted all 20 seats in Punjab by-polls and had threatened that the electoral body be set on fire if that did not happen.

She further added that the party’s strategy was to undo the hard work done by the current government to save the country. She said that fresh elections would be held only when considered appropriate by the ECP and the incumbent government.

Earlier on Tuesday, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry demanded that chief election commissioner (CEC) should resign otherwise he would be kicked out eventually. He added that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and its officials should be reconstituted.
