Indian lies on radioactive laden container

Indian media’s unhealthy obsession with Pakistan continues to whisk up stories that have little or no factual base. Recently, in order to tarnish Pakistan’s image, the Indian media reported that a consignment containing radioactive material was seized. This material was onboard a vessel that originated from Karachi. Although the report is correct, there was radioactive material on board, however, the hype created around it did not have much factual information. As cleared out by the Pakistani Foreign Office spokesperson, the nuclear material was for nuclear power plants which generate energy. A completely harmless process which did not require such attention.

From creating a floor which didn’t even exist in a building to creating a weapon from shipping fuel, the Indian media does have a great imagination. What they lack, however, is the ability to look into what is happening in their own state. Each day there are reports of fascism spreading like wildfire. Muslims are being persecuted everywhere now and Kashmiris are being killed without any reason but still the Indian media chooses to report on fake stories that were created just for the sake of it. Such bullying only causes further distress between two states that are never on good terms anyway.

It was reported that Pakistan has been abiding by the international law regarding nuclear weapons and energy even during COVID-19. Therefore, all of these allegations are baseless as there are strict IAEA safeguards on all nuclear power plants in Pakistan. These safeguards guarantee that no nuclear material is misused or diverted towards the making of nuclear weapons instead of producing energy for positive uses.

With all these safeguards intact, India has only made a fool out of itself by trying to bully its neighbouring country. Such baseless accusations cannot and will not make a difference to Pakistan as the country is clear of any mala fide intentions unlike its neigbour which is a web of problems itself. The Foreign Office should take up the recent case of Indian belligerence at all international forums. It should also take up the case of recent killings of Kashmiris in the IIOJK at the hands of the Indian forces. The sufferings of the Kashmiris must end.
