Indian politician calls Fawad Khan’s fans in India ‘traitors’

The leader of the Hindu far-right organization Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Ameya Khopkar has threatened everyone from attempting to release ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India and has labelled the country’s admirers of star Fawad Khan as traitors.

The magnum opus of Lashari is reportedly being prepared for release in India, according to Khopkar who is also a film producer.

The politician went on to say that the MNS party will ensure that the movie was not shown anywhere in India if the party’s Chairman Raj Thackeray gave an order.

According to Indian media, Khopkar allegedly referred to Fawad Khan’s supporters and everyone rooting for ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ to be released in the country as traitors and advised them to travel to Pakistan to see the box office success.

There were several rumours about the movie’s potential release in India. It was previously reported by Pinkvilla that the movie, which is living up to its reputation with a legendary box office performance worldwide, would be released in Indian theatres on December 23.

No formal statement was issued regarding the situation and release of the film in India.

TLOMJ producer Ammara Hikmat while talking to a local media outlet expressed optimism that the movie will be seen by Indian viewers, but she denied any agreement had been reached for the movie’s cinema release.
