Inside the pre-launch of Kanwal Khoosat’s upcoming cine-play ‘Maya’

Theatre and television director Kanwal Khoosat is all set to bring her upcoming work in the off-beat genre of cine-theatre.

Titled as ‘Maya’, as revealed by Khoosat herself as well as by her brother Sarmad Khoosat, the play is a presentation of Olomopolo Media, with The Embassy of the Netherlands in Pakistan acting as the collaborator. From its logo which seemingly carries a huge red-coloured planet as well as the description which its makers are giving, ‘Maya’ promises to be a piece carrying tropes of magic-realism with a tinge of the all-time relevant sci-fi genre.

“MAYA – a mythical tale of hate, love and magic – a fantastical play that will melt your heart,” was how both Kanwal and Khoosat were observed introducing the play on their respective social media accounts, with an enticing side-statement that went like this:

“Buckle up for an enchanting journey to Pareena with Maya and Nain Tara.”

Here are some glimpses from the lovely pre-launch of the play held at Olomopolo Media with the props designed for the play including dresses hung on mannequins and classy petites also on the exhibit.

Earlier, Kanwal Khoosat was also found directing a cine-play by the name of ‘Mushk’, starring Sania Saeed and Nimra Bucha which was released on the Indian OTT platform Zee5.
