Instagram completely recovers after brief outage

Instagram experienced a brief outage on Monday morning that lasted for a few hours. Users ran into issues when the app’s feed stopped working and started flashing error messages that said it could not refresh.

The website simultaneously showed a blank page, which made matters worse.

The outage tracker DownDetector noted that reports of the outage started to circulate just after 3AM PKT and peaked at over 175,000 complaints.

However, the problem was finally fixed at 4:30 AM PKT, and Instagram was once again fully operational, enabling users to access the platform without any further disruptions.

Luckily, other Meta services like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Horizon Worlds don’t seem to be impacted by the outage. There are no signs of any major problems, like the significant data center backbone issue that previously caused the company’s services to be interrupted for a number of hours in 2021.

There were no updates on the outage on Instagram’s support website or their profiles on other platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
