Inter-provincial gang of robbers busted

Thatta police on Thursday nabbed two notorious robbers of an interprovincial robber gang involved in scores of robbery incidents across the province. Police sprang into action on a tipoff and arrested the bandits near the Shahpur stop of Coastal town Gharo by cordoning off the area.

Thatta SSP Adeel Ahmed Chandio called it a major success for the force and said that the arrested robbers were identified as Kamran Rind and Akber aka Ashu Rind.

“They have disclosed that their gang is involved in several incidents of robberies across Sindh and Balochistan,” said SSP.

He added that the gang recently robbed a car in an area of Thatta district and police recovered that car along with a 30-bore pistol, cash amount, and a mobile phone from their possession. He further held that the robbers had disclosed that their network was divided into two parts — one committed robbery in Sindh while the other was involved in similar kinds of crimes taking place in Balochistan. They were also involved in the supply of robbed vehicles from Sindh to Balochistan, the SSP added.

“We are in contact with the police chief of Balochistan to obtain the record of the gang, and soon we would launch a joint operation against the gang,” Chandio asserted.
