Interim selection committee includes 3 players in Test squad against NZ

Three players have been included in the Pakistan Test squad announced for the two-Test series against New Zealand.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) the interim selection committee has included fast bowler Mir Hamza, off-spinner Sajid Khan and fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani.

The PCB said that the decision to include the players in the squad was taken in the meeting of the Interim Selection Committee while the captain Babar Azam attended the meeting through video link.

The PCB said that Mir Hamza took 16 wickets in four matches of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Sajid Khan took 21 wickets in seven matches. Being with the national team, Dahani could only play 2 matches.

Mir Hamza played his only Test against Australia in Abu Dhabi in October 2018. Sajid Khan played his seventh and final Test match against Australia in Lahore this year. He has taken 22 wickets so far including 8 for 42 in the Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka last year.

Shahnawaz Dahani has not yet made his Test debut but has represented the national team in two One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 11 T20 matches.
