Interior Minister worries over law and order situation in Punjab

Since two Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) employees were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in Khanewal on Tuesday the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has voiced alarm over the law and order situation in Punjab.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated in a tweet that he has requested a report from the Inspector General and Chief Secretary of Punjab. He said that the law and order situation in Punjab was worrisome. He urged the government to take action to stop similar occurrences.

On the other hand, according to a statement made by the Punjab police, Additional Inspector General Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan left towards the location of the crime after learning about it.

The Punjab Police representative also stated that the offenders will be brought to justice and further information would become available.

Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi paid tribute to the martyred officers and sent his condolences to their families. Elahi also requested a report from the head of the local police force.
