The Interior Ministry has ordered the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to remain “extremely vigilant” following the recent terror events in the country.

In a notification, the LEAs of all provinces along with Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been directed to take extra security measures to prepare for any unforeseen incidents.

Five people were killed and over 25 wounded in two separate terror attacks in Lahore and Islamabad.

Three people were killed in an explosion in Lahore’s Anarkali. According to a newspaper, law enforcement agencies detained two facilitators from Ravi Road on Friday morning. They said that they had identified the main terrorist behind the attack.

In another attack, a policeman was killed with two others injured in a gun battle at a police checkpoint in Islamabad. In retaliatory fire, police shot down two militants in the process.

The Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said on Tuesday that the attack on the policemen was not a robbery or theft. He said that terrorists attacked the police officials at the check post. Rasheed added the incident was an indicator that terror attacks had started taking place in the capital.

Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa also reiterated the Armed Forces’ resolve to fight terrorism in the country till it was completely eliminated.
