Internet connectivity restored following widespread outage

Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) has said that a technical fault which caused internet connectivity issues in major urban areas has been repaired and services have been restored.

According to PTCL’s message on social media, the technical fault was caused by heavy rains and flooding. It also stated that the fault has been repaired and internet services restored.

Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has also stated in a message that the internet outage due to technical fault has been resolved and internet services restored to normal.

PTA had earlier in a message said that PTCL had reported internet connectivity issues in data networks between south and north [regions] that was being investigated.

Due to problems, Telenor Pakistan also reported its internet network down because of a network issue at internet service provider. Lahore and Islamabad had reported widespread internet blackouts for fixed-line as well as cellular networks data users.
