Iran’s President Pezeshkian lands in Pakistan for high-level official visit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday for a high-level official visit that highlights the growing strategic partnership between the two neighboring countries following recent diplomatic developments in the region.

The visit comes shortly after Iran and the United States agreed to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a framework designed to ease tensions and pave the way for a broader settlement after months of conflict. Pakistan played a key role in facilitating dialogue between the two sides, helping create conditions for the breakthrough agreement.

During his visit, President Pezeshkian is expected to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues. The talks are likely to focus on expanding cooperation in trade, energy, border management, regional connectivity, and cultural exchanges.

Pakistani officials describe the visit as a reflection of the strong historical and cultural ties between Islamabad and Tehran. Both countries are expected to reaffirm their commitment to regional peace, stability, and economic development while exploring new avenues for collaboration.

The visit follows the conclusion of the first round of four-party talks involving Iran, the United States, Pakistan, and Qatar in Switzerland. The discussions were held as part of ongoing efforts to transform the recently signed memorandum into a lasting political settlement.
