Ishaq Dar remains ‘absconder’ after withdrawing his plea against AC decision

Former finance minister Ishaq Dar has withdrawn his Supreme Court (SC) appeal challenging his status as an absconder.

On Wednesday, Ishaq Dar’s plea challenging the decision of the Accountability Court declaring him an absconder was heard by the Supreme Court.

The former finance minister’s attorney, Salman Butt, represented Ishaq Dar in the proceeding.

The PML-N leader withdrew the petition during the proceedings, and the lawyer said that they wished to contact the appropriate forum.

The SC dismissed the case following the withdrawal by Ishaq Dar.

The Accountability Court’s decision to declare PML-N leader Ishaq Dar as an absconder remains active.

The accountability court had declared Ishaq Dar as an absconder because of his continuous absence in the asset reference case.
