Islamabad court grants one day transit remand of Hassaan Niazi to Quetta police

A local court in Islamabad on Wednesday remanded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s nephew and focal person Hassaan Niazi to Quetta police on a one-day transit remand.

Islamabad Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas heard the application of Quetta Police seeking transit remand to produce Hassaan Niazi before the Judicial Magistrate of Quetta. The court granted one-day transit remand of Hassaan Niazi and handed him over to Quetta police.

The court directed the investigating officer to produce Hassan Khan Niazi in the concerned court on March 25.

The order stated that the investigating officer had requested transit remand to produce the accused before the Quetta magistrate in connection with the FIR registered at The Airport Quetta Balochistan police station.

The court said that the request of the investigating officer was maintainable and therefore handed over to the police on a one-day transit remand. The court also directed the investigating officer to keep the accused in safe custody.

Earlier, Quetta Police reached Islamabad Court for transit remand of Hassaan Khan Niazi as a case was registered against him on March 18 at Airport Quetta Police Station.

It may be recalled that the court had sent Hassaan Niazi to jail on judicial remand after rejecting the request of the police after two days physical remand in the case of interference in the government. The court had said that after the completion of his 14-day judicial remand, he was ordered to be produced before the court on April 6.

Hassaan Khan Niazi was arrested on March 20, a case was registered against him for interfering in the car government and showing weapons. Later, on March 21, a local court in Islamabad approved a two-day physical remand of Hassaan Khan Niazi on the request of the police.
