An Islamabad court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill in a sedition case.
Judge Tahir Abbas of the District and Sessions Courts of Islamabad heard the treason case against Shahbaz Gill, in which Gill’s lawyer Murtaza Toori appeared in the court, while NAB’s junior lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi’s junior lawyer appeared in the court.
During the hearing, the defence counsel said that the duty magistrate had ordered that the judge concerned would pronounce the verdict on the exemption application, to which the junior prosecutor said that the duty judge had ordered the decision on the exemption application to be pronounced today.
Judge Tahir Abbas said, “How can the judge order without hearing.”
The court adjourned the hearing till 11 pm and sought a report on the non-bailable warrant of Shahbaz Gill.
Later, the court accepted the prosecution’s request to cancel Shahbaz Gill’s bail and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for him.
