Islamabad DC Hamza Shafqaat removed from post

Shafqaat directed to report to Establishment Division

The federal government on Saturday removed Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat from his post.

He has been directed to report to the Establishment Division in Islamabad till further orders.

A notification to this effect issued by Establishment Division read “Hamza Shafqaat, a BS-19 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, presently posted as Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory under interior division, is transferred and directed to report to Establishment Division, with immediate effect and until further orders.”

Irfan Nawaz of Administrative Service Grade 19 has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner Islamabad. He was earlier posted in Balochistan.

Hamza Shafqaat has previously worked as the Deputy Secretary Establishment Division from 2016 to 2017. In September 2017, he was posted as Director Administration. Before his posting as Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, he had been working as Joint Secretary Establishment Division.

In another development, Zahid Khan of Administrative Service Grade 18 was also removed from his post. He had been instructed to report to the Establishment Division.
