Federal police ask permission to clear M1 and M2 going to Islamabad airport

Islamabad Police has obtained arrest warrants of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders.

According to reports, Islamabad Police has obtained arrest warrants for Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Zulfi Bukhari, Wasiq Qayyum and other PTI leaders while Ali Amin Gandapur and Pervez Khattak were already wanted by Islamabad Police.

On the other hand, the federal police have written a letter to the interior secretary and the chief commissioner seeking permission to clear the M1 and M2 going to Islamabad airport.

The letter has said that a large number of people have been appealing to the federal government to open roads. It has said that with the permission of the federal government motorways can be opened.

The letter also said that passengers and citizens coming to the Islamabad International Airport were facing severe difficulties due to the closure of roads as a result of the protests of PTI workers.

The police said in the letter that the airport is one of the important installations whose routes are of utmost importance. It also stated that Articles 97/149 and 151 of the Constitution guarantee the safety of the airport and its routes.
