Islamabad special security plan: establishes 25 police checkpoints

Islamabad police have setup 25 more temporary checkpoints in Islamabad as a part of its Islamabad special security plan.

Islamabad police had also made it mandatory for its citizens and foreigners to carry their IDs with them.

According to the security plan, Safe City cameras will record Red Zone entry points, and video surveillance of metro bus passengers will also take place.

Authorities also issued a warning about non-specimen number plates and unlicensed vehicles, instructing citizens to make sure their vehicles had excise office-issued number plates.

According to the police, Citizens who hired unlicensed local or foreign workers would also be investigated.

They urged citizens to report any unusual activity on the 15-helpline to authorities.

This plan also makes it mandatory for landlords and employers to register their tenants and employees at a nearby police station or khidmat marakiz.

Earlier on Friday, A police constable was killed and six others were injured in a bomb blast in the capital’s I-10 sector, the first major incident of terrorism in Islamabad since 2014.
