Who is responsible for the video scandal at Islamia University Bahawalpur? Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema expressed reservations over the government inquiry.

Tariq Bashir Cheema also accused political opponents of defaming him and demanded the formation of a commission of high court judges to investigate.

Tariq Bashir Cheema said that he was ready to join every inquiry committee with his son, if any such defect is proved against, then he will expel him out of the house.

On the other hand, caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi said that the investigation of the university scandal has been completed, those responsible will be severely punished.

What is the Islamia University Bahawalpur Scandal?

It may be recalled that recently a case of illegal activities including drugs and banned drugs came to light at Islamia University Bahawalpur.

Police arrested the university’s chief security officer Ejaz Shah a few days ago and Director Finance Muhammad Abu Bakar last month.

After completing the forensic scan of the mobile phones of the officers, a comprehensive report regarding videos, chats, pictures of cell phones has been sent to the Chief Minister Punjab, while the Vice Chancellor has written a letter to ig Punjab declaring the cases as false.

On the other hand, University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Athar Mehboob has written a letter to ig Punjab Police, calling the case against the officers false.

The Vice Chancellor said that an investigation committee comprising senior officers should be formed to investigate the matter transparently.

Dr Athar Mehboob said in a letter to ig Punjab that there is no illegal work in the university.
