Israel President Isaac Herzog is expected to meet United States President Joe Biden in Washington DC on October 25-26 in his first official visit to the US since entering office.

As per an Al Jazeera report, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said, “Biden and Herzog will consult on key issues, including regional and global challenges of mutual concern, opportunities to deepen Israel’s regional integration and ways to advance equal measures of freedom, prosperity, and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.”

She further added that the US calls its enduring partnership and friendship with Israel “ironclad”.

According to foreign media reports, Biden invited Herzog for an official diplomatic visit on his Middle East trip last July.

Herzog is also likely to meet with top Biden administration officials, senators, and Jewish community leaders.

A statement by the Israeli government said that the purpose of the meeting was to enhance the great alliance between the United States and Israel and to portray the two countries’ strong connections in these difficult times.

“President Herzog and President Biden will discuss strategic, security, and economic issues, including joint initiatives concerning the climate crisis,” it said.
