Israel has continued to show its animosity towards the Muslims and the Palestinians as its forces raided the worshippers for second consecutive time. This time the Israeli forces attacked the Muslim worshippers at night.
On the other hand, the Israeli assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque has prompted the UN Security Council (UNSC) to convene a special conference. On the request of China and the United Arab Emirates, the UNSC has scheduled a private conference.
Despite a U.S. plea to defuse tensions, Israeli police raided Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque once again hours after arresting and removing more than 350 people during a police search at the complex.
In the second incident, Israeli troops invaded the Mosque enclosure late at night and attempted to remove worshippers by using stun grenades and shooting rubber bullets, staff of the Waqf which is an Islamic body designated by Jordan to oversee the complex stated.
Six individuals were injured, Palestinian Red Crescent stated.
“Israel’s raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque, its assault on worshippers, is a slap to recent US efforts which tried to create calm and stability during the month of Ramadan,” said Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
John Kirby, the spokesperson for national security at the White House, expressed worry over the violence at the mosque and emphasized the need for Israelis and Palestinians to defuse tensions.
Israeli troops stormed the Mosque and brutally struck scores of Palestinian worshippers on Tuesday night in occupied East Jerusalem.
