IUB galloping into IT age under its IT Directorate

By Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain

Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s (IUB) Directorate of IT has introduced IT-based systems in the university, including the My IUB App. The Directorate has become an inherent and indispensable component of teaching, research, and campus life. Rizwan Majeed has been working as founding Director of Information Technology, with additional responsibilities of Director of Students’ Affairs in his own pay and scale, for over three years. He is famous as an IT guru having international exposure to working with multinational organizations. The IT Directorate is responsible for handling all the IT-related matters of the University’s campuses in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalnagar. The DIT has been engaged in providing IT services to the IUB faculty, students, and staff. It has different domains each with its own team that performs assigned tasks as per guidelines and directions of Director IT.

In the recent past, the DIT organized the first international Tech Nation Conference 2022 by inviting young IT leaders to share innovative ideas for entrepreneurship, freelancing and IT related businesses like e-commerce, Amazon etc. After having a massive successful experience, Rizwan went on to materialize yet another innovative idea of organizing the Digital South Punjab Road Show 2022.
