IUB syndicate approves Rs8,813.5m budget

The 78th meeting of the Syndicate of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held at the Abbasia Campus under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Dr Athar Mahboob.

Syndicate Secretary Prof Moazzam Jameel briefed the meeting about the decisions taken in the previous meeting. Treasurer Prof Abubakar presented the budget of the university.

The meeting approved Rs8,813.58 million budget for the year 2022-23. A sum of Rs4,033.66 million was approved for development projects.

The recommendations of the Finance and Planning Committee were also approved in the meeting. In the meeting, the recommendations of the previous selection boards were approved.

Policy guidelines regarding naming of various roads and buildings in university campuses were approved. International Center for Climate Change, Food Security and Consortium was approved in the university.

The recommendations of the previous academic council meeting were also approved in the meeting. The appointment of heads, chairman, chairperson and directors of various departments was approved.

A data storage center for MPhil and PhD thesis was approved under the Board of Advanced Studies and Research. An agreement between Multan Flying Club and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was approved under which the Department of Aviation Sciences will be able to use facilities of Jamia Islamia Flying Club.

The rules for the transfer of employees of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur were approved. The establishment of SDGs and Fatima Jinnah Women Leadership Centers at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur were approved.
