Jemima’s film starring Sajal Aly and Shabana Azmi to release next year

Studio Canal has announced the release date for its film ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It?’ written by Jemima Khan and directed by Shekhar Kapur.

The film, which is said to be a British-South Asian rom-com, is slated for release on January 27 of the coming year, and stars some big international names such as Sajal Aly, Shabana Azmi, Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson, Mim Shaikh and Asim Chaudhry.

A few cast members have announced the project with a lot of excitement, saying that it is going to be the biggest cross-cultural romantic comedy.

For Pakistanis, the film holds a large number of reasons to be excited about. Not only does it star their all-time favourite Sajal Aly, whose second international project this is going to be, but it has been scripted by the ex-wife of their much-admired former prime minister, Imran Khan. Majority of the youngsters are looking forward to the kind of magic Jemima Khan has weaved as a story-teller for the big screen, and how Sajal Aly executes it along with the big-wigs of Bollywood like Shabana Azmi.

Sources say that Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has also been roped in for the project to provide it with some traditional music.
