JIT submits interim challan to ATC in Imran Khan assault case

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has submitted an interim challan to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Gujranwala in connection with the assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

The ATC in Gujranwala heard the Imran Khan attack case. Naveed, the main accused in the case, was also produced in the court while JIT convener Ghulam Mehmood Dogar also appeared in the court.

During the hearing, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar submitted an interim challan in the ATC court according to which accused Naveed standing on the left side of the PTI Chairman’s container opened fire at 4 pm on November 3 in which 10 people including Imran Khan were injured.

The investigating officers told the court that the motorcycle used in the crime has also been recovered from the accused. The court asked what happened to the inquiry report on the illegal detention of accused Naveed.

JIT convener said that the statements of those responsible for illegal detention were being recorded and were in the final stage. He asked for further remand of the accused telling that the inquiry report will be completed on the next appearance.

The court allowed the JIT’s plea and adjourned the hearing till December 22.
