Judge threatening case: Imran Khan appeals against non-bailable warrants

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has appealed against the non-bailable arrest warrants in a case involving threats against a female judge on Wednesday.

Imran Khan’s attorneys Faisal Chaudhary and Ali Bukhari submitted the plea. According to the argument, Imran Khan was granted bail by the high court till April 6 on security grounds.

The PTI chief’s life was under danger, according to Imran Khan’s attorney, who also argued that the Judicial Magistrate’s ruling should be immediately halted.

In a case involving the intimidation of a female judge, a district and sessions court earlier today issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for PTI chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The court denied Imran Khan’s request for an exemption and ordered him to appear in court on April 18 in connection with a case involving threatening behavior toward a female judge.

On August 20, the PTI chairman denounced both the police and the judiciary for the alleged abuse of Shahbaz Gill while he was being held in custody and declared that his party will file lawsuits against Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the DIG, and AD&SJ Zeba Chaudhry.

He was charged with offenses under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and different provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has filed a complaint against him for contempt of court.
