The commission’s mandate will involve investigating the allegations made by the judges of the Islamabad High Court.
This decision comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa mutually agreed to form the inquiry commission during their recent meeting.
Regarding the letter issued by the IHC judges, six judges addressed the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), urging full support for Justice Retired Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s call for an investigation. They stressed the importance of upholding judicial independence and holding all accountable for any interference.
