A young man riding a motorcycle was shot dead by police personnel in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi.
The three officials have been arrested after a preliminary investigation proved them guilty. According to Deputy Inspector General of Police East Muqaddas Haider, the incident took place in Gulistan-e-Jauhar under Shahrah-e-Faisal police station limits in Karachi East.
According to officials, two people riding a motorcycle were signalled to stop by Shaheen Force personnel, when they did not stop the personnel on the motorcycle chased him and went to the premises of a residential building and opened fire on him.
Amir Hussain was killed on the spot while climbing the stairs of the building. After the incident, there was unrest in the area.
On the directions of DIG East Muqaddas Haider, police officers under the supervision of SSP East Abdul Rahim Shirazi explained the whole situation with the help of CCTV footage during the initial investigation.
According to SSP East Abdul Rahim Shirazi, weapons were not recovered from the two bike-borne men. He said the two men were accompanied by a minor girl who was safe.
According to DIG East, the personnel involved in the firing have been arrested. A case of murder is being registered against the officials by contacting the relatives of the deceased.
Nasir, Shahryar and Faisal, the three arrested officers involved in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar firing, are present in the lock-up.
