Karachi has received reports of more than 200 incidences of sexual assault this year. In light of the 216 incidents of abuse, the victims were under five years old, forty were between the ages of six and ten, thirty-eight were between the ages of fifteen and eighteen, and ninety-five were over the age of eighteen.

As per a report from voicepk.net, the number of rape-murder cases has significantly grown during the past year. The sheer amount of young boys and girls who are murdered after being sexually assaulted is quite concerning, according to police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed.

War Against Rape (WAR), an organization that focuses on such incidents, found a trend. According to WAR’s analysis of the sexual assault cases that have been reported this year up to July, 27 (64%) of the 42 survivors in these cases were minors.

According to the report, 12–17-year-olds (29%) and 5–11-year-olds (36%), respectively, are the most susceptible age groups. All of the instances under investigation had an average age of 14 years, with a five-year-old minimum for survivors.

Women and female children made up 38 (90%) of the cases that were recorded. 64% of the instances involved rape, 18% involved gang rape, 12% involved incest, and 6% involved sexual assault.

District West has the greatest rate of sexual violence (47%) with a red alert zone status, followed by District East (21%), District Korangi (14%), the Malir and South districts (each with 8%), and the Keamari and Central districts (each with 1%).
