According to officials, three major pumps at the station have been taken offline due to the malfunction, reducing the city’s daily water supply by approximately 100 million gallons.

The disruption has also affected the Dhabeji Pumping Station, where a power breakdown has temporarily suspended water distribution to several residential areas. Authorities said repair teams are working to restore the affected systems as quickly as possible.

Among the neighborhoods impacted by the interruption are North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, and Buffer Zone, where residents are currently facing a temporary suspension of water supply. In addition, water distribution has also been halted in parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-D, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and Scheme 33 due to the ongoing technical issues.

Officials explained that the shutdown is necessary to carry out repair and maintenance work on the damaged equipment. They emphasized that the measures are temporary and are intended to ensure the safe and efficient restoration of the pumping system.

Once the repair work is completed and the pumping stations return to normal operations, water supply will be restored gradually across the affected areas. Authorities have advised residents to use available water carefully during the disruption and avoid unnecessary consumption until regular services resume.

The maintenance teams remain engaged in resolving the technical fault, and updates will be provided as progress is made. Water utility officials expressed confidence that the repair work will be completed as soon as possible, allowing the city’s distribution network to return to normal. Until then, residents in the affected localities may continue to experience reduced or interrupted water supply while restoration efforts remain underway.
