Karan Johar called out by Ibrar Ul Haq

Popular Pakistani singer Ibrar Ul Haq has called out Bollywood producer Karan Johar in his recent tweet, criticising one of the most famous Indian celebrities for plagiarising his hit song “Nach Punjaban” for his upcoming film “Jugjugg Jeeyo” which stars some big names like Anil Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

Ibrar Ul Haq, known mostly for his Punjabi folk songs, expressed disappointment at his sixth song being blatantly copied by Bollywood, adding that he won’t tolerate this time and will make sure to go to the courts because he never sold the copyrights to the film’s production house, Dharma Films. He also tagged the house along with producer Karan Johar in his post.

‘Nach Punjaban’ was the titular song of Ibrar Ul Haq’s 2002 album which went on to become one of his most popular songs, not to forget the controversy it ignited for stereotyping Punjabi women. The song’s controversy coupled with its dance beat together made it a hit song which rules the hearts of Punjabis to date.
