‘Khaab Toot Jatay Hain’ to mark Amjad Islam Amjad’s comeback as a dramatist

Joint production of Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, Bilal Ashraf set to air

Ace actor and director Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, who is known for having helmed super-hits like ‘Udaari’ and ‘Angan’ has announced that his upcoming project as a director is a mini-series for a local channel.

Titled as ‘Khaab Toot Jatay Hain’, it is a joint production of Ehteshamuddin and Bilal Ashraf, and also the first production to make it to the screen under the banner of Behive Transmedia.

‘Khaab Toot Jatay Hain’ happens to be another star-studded addition to the prolific dramatic works being produced on the fall of Dhaka in 1971. Taking the same topic as its focal point, ‘Khaab Toot Jatay Hain’ derives its inspiration from the book ‘The Wastes of Times’ written by Professor Dr. Syed Sajjad Hussain, who happens to be the former Vice Chancellor at Dhaka University.

What is even more interesting about this project around the corner is that Amjad Islam Amjad, the man behind blockbusters like ‘Waris’, ‘Samandar’ and ‘Din’ would be making his comeback to the small screen, as it is he who has penned the script for ‘Khaab Toot Jatay Hain’.

For a very long time, Amjad was only observed penning poetry and reciting it at various live and recorded programs, or contributing to discussions on arts and literature at festivals taking place all over the country.

The director also told that ‘Khaab Toot Jatay Hain’ is just the first among multiple projects, which Behive Transmedia has in its pipeline.

The cast of the series includes Mohammed Ehteshamuddin himself along-with Nadeem Baig, Kulsoom Aftab, Peerzada Salman, Noor-ul-Hassan, Mohammed Ahmed and Saleem Mairaj along with many others, the names of whom can be accessed through the director’s social media handles where he is sharing the complete credits these days.
