Khan announces resignations, PTI to boycott PM election

Murad Saeed first member of National Assembly from party to resign

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has announced his resignation from the National Assembly.

According to media reports, during a PTI parliamentary party meeting today, the subject of resignations came under discussion. Some members in the meeting advised former PM Imran Khan not to resign and that such a step would leave the field empty.

Imran Khan stated during the meeting that the party should not sit in the assembly under any circumstance, and that if no one resigned, he would be the first one to do so.

Following the meeting, former federal minister Murad Saeed became the first PTI member to submit his resignation from the National Assembly to the speaker.

Meanwhile, former information minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that PTI would be boycotting the election for the prime minister.
