Khanewal returns to normalcy after lynching horror

Three weeks after the Tulamba lynching horror in Khanewal, normalcy has begun to return. With the efforts of MNA Pir Zahoor Hussain Qureshi, MPA Abbas Ali Shah and social activist Mian Amir Hasnain Sahu, shops in the local market have also been opened.

Hasnain Sahu said that the tragedy of Talamba on February 12 was a sad incident that hurt every human being, and everyone was in grief and anger. The local people were in a state of panic after the incident. And with the help of local administration, normalcy is beginning to return, he said.

On the evening of February 12, Khanewal’s Tulamba madrasa saw a Sialkot-like incident when an angry mob killed a man, accusing him of committing desecration of sacred papers.

As a result, FIRs were registered against more than 300 people. Action was taken, and all the accused, including the main accused, were arrested.

The killing was similar to the lynching of a factory engineer in Sialkot, belonging to Sri Lanka, who was lynched by workers on December 3 last year following blasphemy charges.
