Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has refused to apologize for his remarks regarding PTI women.
Khawaja Asif has said that he did not make any derogatory remarks about women. Defence Minister said, “I have not used abusive words against women.”
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had yesterday described the women members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in derogatory words.
During the speech, Khawaja Asif had said that these women should not give lectures on morality, first look at their face and then taunt us for chastity. Khawaja Asif said that if I say anything else, they will use ‘Woman Card’.
Terming the women MPs as remnants of Imran Khan, the Defence Minister pointed to the places where PTI’s women lawmakers senator Zarqa Suhrawardy Taimur, Sania Nishtar, Falak Naz Chitrali and Fauzia Arshad Barjaman were present.
Khawaja Asif further said that this is the garbage left by the CHAIRMAN PTI, which has to be cleaned, his statement evoked a strong reaction from PTI’s women MPs who got up from their seats and demanded Khawaja Asif to withdraw his words.
In defense of his statement, the Defense Minister said that not only women but also men were called garbage, my apology is not made. Addressing the Speaker, Khawaja Asif said that you had deleted the word garbage.
He further said that abusive words were used against Maryam Nawaz and Faryal Talpur, the leader of his party has been speaking against women, why do they not condemn the language of their leader. Khawaja Asif said that my training was done by Nawaz Sharif.
