KP rejects federal govt request to send police force for PTI long march

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial administration has rejected a plea from the federal government for police officers to interrupt the Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf’s march.

KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan advised the federal government that it was not possible to provide security forces to halt the long march at this time as the province’s law and order situation needed attention

He said that the federal government is asking the K-P police forces for assistance, at a time when Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah ought to be physically present in Swat to help handle the security situation.

PTI leader Shaukat Ali Yousafzai also criticized Sanaullah and questioned his qualifications to serve as interior minister.

He said, “How could a minister of the interior be indecisive? Is Islamabad concerned about a terrorist strike, or are some foreign forces preparing an assault on the nation’s capital for which the military is needed? We are unable to send any FC or police officials to the capital.

Yousafzai further said that the person, who killed innocent people in Model Town, now wants to play the same game in Islamabad.

He said, “There will be no violence during the PTI’s long march, and millions will peacefully march toward Islamabad.”
