Lack of policy delays is reason for country’s failure, says Ahsan Iqbal

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated on Tuesday that Pakistan’s shortcomings during the last 75 years were due to political instability and a lack of sustained policy.

While speaking at the launching ceremony of the young development fellowship program, the minister stated that “we won independence to prove that we could construct a prosperous state,” not to continue the line of developing nations.

When speaking about the fellowship program, he noted that it had previously been started under the previous term of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) but that it had been impeded since his government had been hit by the “Tsunami.”

The minister asserted that his administration’s ‘Vision 2025’ announcement had been ignored by the succeeding administration. He said that our country’s lack of progress in the correct path was due to the policies that were being obstructed.

He continued by asserting that the government of his party had saved the nation from an energy crisis and had better plans if the appropriate policies had been implemented to realize those plans.

He said that any nation’s success and prosperity depended on peace and stability.

The minister emphasized the need of utilizing the nation’s demographic diversity.
